I've got a couple of these multiplexers http://bildr.org/2011/02/cd74hc4067-arduino/ to use with my arduino, so as to increase my analog inputs. The web page also contains the code for the arduino, which is quite easy to understand, but quite difficult for me to implement to some already existing code (to the standard firmata, for example), so I can use it with Pd.
Has anyone used this before? Anyone used more than 6 analog inputs with an arduino duemilanove or uno and Pd?

In this case i would go without Firmata. Just write your arduino sketch to poll the multiplexer and send the result to the serial port. Using Firmata or not depends on the incoming data rate you want to achieve.

But how do I receive the data in Pd? What should I do except from [comport]? Maybe the [arduino] abstraction? But still, I think all I'm getting is noise...
I don't know so much about dealing with serial communication with external devices..

Use [comport "portNumber" "speed"]. Make use that your arduino is set up to use the same serial speed. Find where your arduino is plugged (the port number) with [devices< and then open the corresponding port with [open "portnumber"<. Then, assuming that your arduino i set up to send values to the serial port and that you put a [print] after your [comport], you should see something going in.

Yea, well, I've done this already (I guess I do know a bit about serial communications), but this whole multiplexing and unpacking is a little bit unknown to me.
