Hey,
I recently got some solenoids working and I have deployed them in different fashions using PD,
Would be cool if you checked them out, any feedback/suggestions are welcome!
Cheers!

Great, by 1:50 the rhythmic phasing of the notes becomes very effective and continues in a pleasing manner.
Nice solder joints...err clumps - actually they look like mine when I'm soldering wires together because I'm to impatient to get longer ones.
Now you are free to experiment with different approaches to rhythm - different clocks running at arbitrary or changing speeds, randomization of temporal placement - these thoughts come to mind as possibly helpful in creating a bit more interest during sparser sections of music and providing a clear contrast between that and more pulse-driven sections. It may be worth starting and stopping the clock(s), assigning a clock to a pitch-collection, another clock to a different pitch collection, and treat these as "motives" that can be overlapped and transformed.
Awwww, it looks like too much fun - do you have plans to knock anything else around? Small drums? Set pendulums in motion that will collide with cymbals or wind chimes!
You probably don't want to get too much water around...but an instrument that I have designed would be just kick-ass with this since you can create your own pitch systems and change them on the fly...at the risk of shorting everything!

The website is terrible, sorry it's not finished and I don't know what I'm doing with HTML, very haphazard.

Hey PonZo,
Thanks a lot for the reply! That's exactly what I was looking for on the forums.
Yeah, it's early stages yet, it's taken a while to get parts in and go through all the trial and error of getting a good set up.
However I do plan to try them on different instruments and to create proper installations next year hopefully.
They are so versatile and work great with PD, there so much to do!
Also, I checked out your instruments, that looks pretty insane, will be sure to have a deeper look at it!
Thanks again!
Great, make sure to post if you make a new recording, I'd love to hear multiple sound sources.

Hello,
I was going to open a new thread but since i found this im going to ask here.
I need to do a project for my university and i decided to build a guitar arpegiator using solenoids, kind of like a robotic guitar teacher for the right hand programming different patterns in Pd...
I got around using Pduino with my Arduino UNO but now im not sure what are the best solenoids to use for this project...
Help please?
Found the solenoids but now i need to know how can i drive 6 solenoids with just one Arduino UNO, im thinking about using a couple of ULN2803's... any thoughts, experiencies, warnings?
Oops! Looks like something went wrong!
