Hello everyone,

I noticed that under windows or linux double clicking on a patch, while pd is open, launches another instance of pd whereas under osx the patch opens in the running instance.

Why is this ? And is it possible to force windows and linux to use the current instance rather than opening a new one ?

I believe that the reason for this behavior (or maybe just a happy accident) is that on multi-core processors one runtime of pd will only use one core. If you open a second instance, then each will use one of the processor cores.

If you don't like that behavior, you can just go to the File menu -> open, right?
