I recently noticed that recent versions of pd (both vanilla and extended) and other portaudio-based applications (e.g. Audacity) don't see some ASIO drivers: namely, the RME Fireface 800 and Reaper's ReaRoute ASIO drivers.

I found several posts in different forums around about both issues, and I've drawn the following conclusions:

• the RME driver ASIO driver simply doesn't work, and nobody actually knows why. However some people report to get ultra-low latencies (3ms) with the MME (or MMIO as in pd) drivers. Moreover, they can use the multi-in multi-out capability of the RME only when set at 48000 Hz (but this is another story...) I will ask RME directly about these issues.
• the ReaRoute ASIO driver is blacklisted by portaudio (as of v19) and therefore discarded...
  This is the most urgent issue because I need to route audio from pd to Reaper with the lowest possible latency/cpu load.

I run into this kind of routing problem often.
I run ASIO4ALL occasionally, but it really won't route anything (beside allowing input into Reason).
I'm curious about Jackdmp, and think it would solve a lot of problems for those of us in Windows. I attempted an install, but as a non-programmer, it isn't very fun to run a compiler.
As far as I know, Jackdmp can solve the issue for you, and it seems like everyone on this board that uses it is happy with it. So if you can install it, or if someone is kind enough here to share their binaries with those of us who go fetal upon opening CodeBlocks, I'm guessing you would be in business.

jackaudio is not the solution for me, I've been having trouble trying to get my fireface 400 work properly with pd (pd extented 0.41.4) . pd won't show the ASIO Fireface driver, so I can only use 2 channels at once (and I need more...) . I've installed jackaudio to try and counter the problem, but it won't be recognized by pd either.
I can get the asio fireface and jack to work with an older version of pd (0.38), but it just won't work with pd 0.41.4...
Would anybody have a solution or suggestions?
