'Lo again all,
So, what's the deal on folks using ASIO drivers other than, for example, the default "Microsoft Sound-Mapper" in Win-XP?
If it matters, which are the "best" such ASIO drivers to go with?

When you have an outboard device, you can usually use the supplied asio drivers. When working with an internal soundcard, apparently asio4all is not bad.

I use an external audio interface from presonus-- a firebox. My main interest is in recording music, so I needed a better soundcard than would be supplied with a general pc. These interfaces always come with their own drivers. There is no need for you to worry about ASIO drivers if your not using an ASIO device. But, I would recommend an external interface/soundcard if you are interested in recording or using your computer as an DAW.
Take Care,
