Hello everyone!
I'm trying to make pd work on an android phone using Andronix, with no luck so far. I have compiled from source, but I do not hey any sound devices!

Here are some screenshots I hope can give some clues of the issue...

I also installed in Ubuntu from the repositories and had similar issues. What could I do to fix this? Thanks in advance!!

@sadielcuentas Andronix uses pulseaudio to send a stream to the speakers, and pulseaudio is the intermediate layer for alsa. It will need to be enabled..... https://docs.andronix.app/troubleshoot/sound/

..... and you might need to configure Ubuntu to enable Alsa?
That link says you don't need to add your user to the audio group..... but I have seen people having problems with Pd audio if they have not done so...... including in the link below.

But @1mark had a solution years ago that might work still...... for Pd streaming directly to pulseaudio....... https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/11146/ubuntu-browsers-and-puredata-wont-share-audio-output-device-solved/3 (you will need to expand the down arrow probably to read it).
That thread could solve all your problems.

@sadielcuentas I don't know if you figured this out yet. I was able to get Pd to work using Andronix with Ubuntu 20.0.4. At first it didn't work as you documented. However, after I ended up installing ubuntustudio-audio it ended up working.
I had to choose "portaudio" in the Media menu then it saw pulse audio as the output. I can only get sound out at the moment. I don't know if input is even an option but at least it works somewhat.

Hello everybody! Well thank you so much for your kind answer. I did install ubuntu studio and PureData does open, but I still got no sound. Problem seems to be, I can't install pulseaudio alsa modules! I have tried to install both "pulseaudio-alsa" and "pulseaudio-modules-alsa". Anytime I try to install the I get the "unable to locate package" error message.

Could it be there is no alsa module for ARM architectures?

I don't know if there are alsa drivers for ARM architectures, but the Linux kernel used by Andronix won't be able to use them anyway. You have to install the Ubuntu Studio audio package: sudo apt-get install ubuntustudio-audio
After that in Pure Data choose "portaudio" in the Media menu. It should default to pulseaudio. Also make sure you have started pulseaudio in the terminal before starting Ubuntu: pulseaudio --start
This version of Linux is very limited with which audio software you can use, anything that relies on Jack or ALSA won't work. So no Audacity or Ardour. But I have gotten Pd, Cecilia, LMMS, REAPER and Processing working so far, among others.
