Does block~ affect ONLY the window it is in, or does it affect all the subpatches nested inside that window?

How to use block~ n00b question
-
@nuromantix Sub-patches too.....
You can check by putting another [block~] in the sub-patch and when you turn on DSP you will get a message in the console........ conflicting block~ objects in same page......
Because sub-patches are the same page..... they are just a part that is hidden until you want to see it.

Thank you.
What about abstractions? It looks like they are not affected I think. -
Actually I don't get any such error messages....

Actually is there a good resource to read about block~ ?
I don't understand the overlap parameter and I'm not really sure why I would change the block size. I do want to change sample rate to save CPU for non-critical things like slow LFOs and oversample for oscillators etc. -
@nuromantix I should have said another [block~] with a different block size....
Resource...... probably a Google.
The old extended help file was good.......block~-help.pd and there are some examples of uses in Pd/doc/3.audio.examples
