hello i built a simple step sequencer following the tutorial on th pd floss manual page, adding inlets and outlets to have a better control over it ... i would like it send a note off message when the step out is plugged to nothing , instead it latches the note until the next one .
thx for your help and i just started learning pd days ago so maybe its a dumb question sorry if it is ...
it looks like this for now 8pas.pd
cheers

midi note off ?

@gopal noteout.pd
tell me if it helps.Esta lloviendo in Berlin...

@Il-pleut I think [makenote] does the same.

It does. If you know how long you want your note to be when you play it, it's cool. Can't believe I've never used it.

no i can ear no change by adding the pipe, maybe i got it wrong but i thought the first number + velocity and the first message with the dollar sign are useless in my case, because the notes come from the slider or the inlets.
what i would like to achieve is that sound stops when the outlet of 8pas is not plugged into the objects that generate sound .
this idea of adding a velocity of 0 seem to be the way to go but maybe i didnt make the good connctions inside 8pas . i will keep testing . -
@gopal You need to put an enveloppe. Since the sound is generated inside pure data, you don't need to use any midi messages.
Use a vline~ and a *~ .

okay it works like that, is there a way to make the velocity to zero when the output is not connected ?
and it's an side question but how can i save the motif i put on the sliders into the seq so it wont be set to zero on every step when i turn pd on ? -
There is a thread called " rich synthesis tutorial" in the tutorial section. You should try it.
