I'm sending 'nopoll' or 'unpoll' then 'poll' to the MouseState object so I can change things when the user clicks but I get this error in Purr Data's console:

@Faranta Sorry, I haven't ported that object to Purr Data yet.

I've got a [legacy_mousemotion] object that piggy-backs on Pd's current GUI->Pd communication. You can't stop it from polling, but polling is only slightly worse than the stream of "motion" messages that already get sent to Pd.

However, it gives you window coordinates instead of screen coordinates.

I also added some event handlers to data structures that allow you to get position and/or deltas for mouse events.

@Faranta Well, they are just there to help fill in for legacy objects that I haven't ported yet. They respond to mouse events on all extant canvas windows which is handy for supported legacy externals.

But in general to build widgets or interfaces I think it's better to target a specific portion of a canvas for mouse events. That's what I do with the [draw] object-- you can set "drag", "mousedown", etc. for specific shapes or groups of shapes.
