best way to switch off a triggered sound ?

hey, you can multiply the ouput with 0 to mute it and with 1 when you want it back with the *~ object. is that what you want ?

Hi @hellow and welcome to the forum,
It will depend on what you want to do and how you triggered the sound. As pointed above, you can mute a sound by multiplying it by 0, by sending a message 0 to the rightmost inlet of [*~] for instance -- but this means that the sound will keep playing, you are just not hearing it. If you are playing an audio file using [readsf~], you can stop it by sending a message [stop( or [0( to it.
