I haven't used PD on OSX in over a year, so unfortunately I can't troubleshoot here...but I would check/update your version of quicktime or the 'libquicktime' library (whatever it's called on OSX) that PD is using.

Mov files are native to OSX so it's got to be a codec setting that's causing the crashes. Got any other video software that could have changed things?

Hopefully someone else with OSX could help with this.

I've made a simple video mixer in Gridflow (9.13) and I want to send the output to an external projector. I've set up my computer so that I can drag windows to the second screen, but when I attempt to go full screen using [#out sdl] and then pressing Esc it goes fullscreen on both screens. If I use an [#out window] object, which I believe is an x11 window, there's no way (that I can find) to go full screen, so I'm stuck at with an 800x600 window on a 1366x768 screen. I did attempt to use a [#scale_to (768 1366)] object to emulate being full screen but the scaling causes a massive drop in framerate.

Can anyone suggest how to go fullscreen on only one screen, how to go fullscreen using an x11 window or some other way to do this?

I'm using Gridflow 9.13 with Pd-extended 0.42.5 on a Dell Studio 1555 using the ATI Radeon 4555 proprietary driver running Ubuntu 10.10.

i am trying to make a gemwin in fullscreen without any bar or GEM bar showing at the top
of hte gemwin. but whenever i make it fullscreen, i can't quit fullscreen in case i need to see other windows again.

i have heard that there is some message i can put on top of toggle of fullscreen, using some keyboard setting , say, pressing "esc" on keyboard while seeing fullscreen gemwin i can always get back to see all other windows.

does anyone know the details on how to do it? appreciate it if anyone can help!

didnt know jack also worked for windows xp?

I'm having major issues trying to install this external.
I have added the path to the extern in PD>paths.
The error dump coming up is:

I downloaded this extern from here from the link that says osx. I assume I don't have to compile it or anything?

i am fiddling around with jack, jackdmp on osx.
i read somewhere here that it would imrprove load and latency of the os.
in my case pd runs better with the built in driver of osx. but then i miss the ability to connect...
i guess i still do it wrong.
if i set buffersize in jack to 512 frames at rate 44100 how is pd to set?
in qjackctl under linux it says 23.2sec at 512frames and nbuffers 2.
if i set that in osx i get bad performance. as soon f.e i use a complex fdn~ subpatch it starts crackling.
so how can that go togehter?
second block of questions:
i tried jackdmp_68.0 on osx. it shows everything in the routing window. (i tried with sc3 and pd,sc3 connects to jackmp)) as soon as i try to select "jack" in the media menu pd vapourizes completely...
if i uninstall jackdmp and reinstall jackosx74 it works sort of. (i did uninstall the jackosx packgage before i installed jackdmp)

Hello everyone,

I just purchased a Ground Control Pro, a midi foot pedal, from DMC. I was hoping to use it to switch between my patches in Puredata. However when I plug it in, using the factory settings=>to my Uno midi interface=>powerbook g4. I don't get any midi signals in the Test Patch in PD. I have selected the midi interface in the PD midi settings, I have also created a external in Audio|Midi OSX utility. If I switch out the GCP with my midi keyboard, PD gets the signals fine.

I am getting midi signals to the Audio/midi OSX utility because when I do a sound test in the utility i get sound response on the "\/" arrow of the midi interface(the one viewable in the patchable section of the utility)

If anyone has had any experience with the GCpro and setting it up with PD I would much apreciate some direction.

Just for you knowledge, I have tried this setup with the OSX midi utility open while PD was open(I heard that I should try that)....no luck.

offset doesnt work.
fullscreen always opens on first monitor.

(by the way, i bring much agression to the forum today...i have been drinking and abusing small animals...in future i will come with clarity and good ideas.....but as an osX user, i really fail to see the point of introducing an entirely new plugin system that doesn't agree with any other platform....and let's face it....one of the big advantages of pd is its platform interdependancy....fuck au and all that shit. the biggest drawback with osX is that it won't run the simple audio plugins that are available to everyone else. why not??? apple deliberately chose to maike osX vst incompatible in order to make a rift in the audio computer market. fuck them.)
