Until now I have been used arduino to connect the outside world to the pi and to the pd. I would like to start and experiment using the internal gpio pins on the PI with pure data (just buttons as input and leds as outputs).
Is there any tutorials one can direct me to? how complicated is that?
you can write codes such in the arduino ? or how does it working?
what object in pd are to receive the data? as it is not done via serial.

I have never used pd-2ork though, but maybe the disis-gpio object from there could be compiled..?

There's also the [pispi] and [pii2c] by the late Martin Peach, if your hardware talks these protocols. I've tried both and they work very well.
Since Martin unfortunately passed away though, I don't know if anyone took over and maintains them.

where can I found those? is it an external pack I should download?

I think you can find them in deken.

you can compile the l2ork external

git clone git@github.com:pd-l2ork/pd.git
cd pd/l2ork_addons/raspberry_pi/
git submodule init
git submodule update
./makeall.sh

The disis_gpio.pd_linux I obtain seems to work (it require pd to be started as root) but

error: disis_gpio detected unknown hardware--disabling disis_gpio object to prevent wiringPi from crashing pd-l2ork. Please note this is expected behavior and when object is created on a Rasbperry Pi it should not trigger this error. Any previously created patches when edited and saved will retain this object and its connections even though the object is not active.

I just looked them up and they're up in deken. Are you searching from your computer or your Pi. In case you're searching from your computer you should untick the "hide foreign architectures" tick-box in deken's preferences.

You are searching for deken instead of pispi. Deken is the name of the now-native find externals plugin. I guess time passed and some of us don't realise not everybody knows the story behind deken.
Anyway, you should type pispi or pii2c in the search field.

Last time I tried gpio I was using the (deprecated) wiring pi gpio externals.
Here is a compiled one, I don't know if it's ok on last Raspbian.
wiringPi_gpio.zip

You might need to install wiring pi on Raspberry... and run pd as root
