I was just making a MIDI panic-button abstraction, and realized:

If Pd has multiple MIDI output ports open, how does [noteout] address the other ports?

This does not appear to be covered in midi-help.pd, and there is no reference to MIDI anywhere in the HTML manual.

I would guess channels 1-16 are device 1, 17-32 are device 2 etc. But why should one have to guess?

You are correct. A whole mass of help has been dumped in favour of a rigid vanilla fanaticism.

But what you are looking for has been added back into [midi-help] again from 0.51-1

That's quite unfortunate. I realize that it stung to have to drop extended, but that was awhile ago. No need to continue carrying the baggage.
