How to import an external into PD Vanilla
Hi there, i'm newer of pd, i know well max or sc, i writing a small app for android and i use libpd, I wish to use round~ into my patch, but vanilla have not, so i tried to build it but the example i found were not for audio use.
I found an external .darwin from Fredrik Oloffson which i don't know if will be compatible with android.
May i ask some help to identify which solution is better to obtain round~ working inside android?
Where find the round.pd for example,
Where put it to get it working inside pd vanilla?
Thanks in advance!

IAC Driver
Putting together a simple sequencer program to interface with synth software across IAC via MIDI. Only, for some reason I don't have the option of using the IAC driver as output from PD. I went through Audio/MIDI setup and made sure that IAC is online and has an open port still no dice. Running a 2015 MacPro with El Capitan OSX 12.
Now I do get an odd error message in the PD Console that suggests that it can't find darwin along with an enormous file address (can't fully fit in the console). I haven't been having too much trouble with it despite this issue. Ought I to consider doing a full re-install of the latest version of PD (as I've updated within the past year), or might I have some other sort of glitch going on?

@weightless I am closer. . . .
I think I did things as you recommended when I reopened Pd it did this:
[deken] deken-plugin.tcl (Pd externals search) loaded from /Users/williamraynovich/Desktop/PureDatainformation.
[deken] Platform detected: Darwin-x86_64-32bit
However, when I tried to make a |shell| Pd Window said: Couldn't create.

I've just opened this tar.gz file downloaded via deken
motex-v0-0extended-(Darwin-i386-32)(Darwin-PowerPC-32)(Darwin-x86_64-32)-externals.tar.gz
and it contains system.pd_darwin, So when you get Deken sorted [motex/system] may also be an option for macs
trying to compile iem_dp on Mac - makefile errors
Hi there,
Indeed, if you’ve read the long thread above you know that this was my first time compiling as well, so I can definitely relate to the feeling of flying blind!
5 months later I can’t quite remember which edits I made to the bsaylor makefile, but I’m pretty sure this one is the final version that ended up working for me:
If memory serves, I removed all objects other than pvoc~.c and partconv~.c from “SOURCES” (I think because the others were already working in 64 bit?), and also made sure the path pointed to “PD_PATH = /Applications/Pd-0.47-1-64bit.app/Contents/Resources”. Then I ran “make” (with the patched pvoc~.c in the same directory as the makefile, and fftw installed as noted), and got my new pvoc~.pd_darwin file to replace the old (non-64 bit) version in my bsaylor folder.
It was rather satisfying to successfully compile, but I still can’t say that I understand most of the errors that pop up during the process. It’s also entirely possible I’m forgetting other key steps that I took, as I was beating my head against this for days at the time. If it helps, here’s the darwin file that I got working on 64 bit:
Problem with GEM and video camera on MAC
Hello,
(I am not English speaking)
I installed PD-Extended on a macbook air OS 10.12.4.
When you try to use
"GEM /examples/04.Video / 00 simple video.pd"
(And any example with camera)
I get the following error:
"[Pix_video]: backend # 0 = 'Darwin': darwin dv iidc analog
Expr, expr ~, fexpr ~ version 0.4 under GNU General Public License
Could not make new SG channel error -9405
[Pix_video]: no valid video backend found "
Any help will be very welcome
Thank you!
Listing things I plug in... DMX
@tobyclbain There is a very good chance that it needs ftdi drivers (as above).... I would google around for any possible conflicts, and then install them. They are not part of the apple install.
A bit more info below if you have more problems.......... as it looks as though your machine might try to hold onto it as an Xhci device.

If you want to be certain before loading the drivers then have a look at the chipset(s) on the board and see what is known about them.......

trying to compile iem_dp on Mac - makefile errors
Thanks for your insights, Alexandros!
I did indeed run into that problem with the naming of Pd-0.47-1.app; when I first tried the pd_darwin makefile, I got an error that the compiler couldn't find m_pd.h, so I figured the path might need to be updated.
I tried makefile_d_fat as well (with the correct Pd /src path), and got even more errors in addition to the same unused parameter errors as the darwin version.
/usr/include/sys/cdefs.h:761:2: error: Unsupported architecture
I'm not sure whether I have any other compilers I can try (I do see "gnumake" in my newly-downloaded Command Line Tools, don't know if that's any different than the other "make"? this is literally my very first attempt at compiling).
But if there is indeed a problem with the source code, I suppose it could be a moot point. I did try deleting symtodp & running the darwin makefile again—this time it got as far as creating a dptosym.o file, but it ran into the unused parameter error once again on dptohex.c and gave up.
ANN library - where to get?
If you are on Linux, you can try compiling it in the terminal by executing make -f makefile.darwin
inside the folder /src. The problem I ran into is that it complains about the architecture of my system (64-bit).
Alternatively, you can ask IOhannes himself about it in the mailing list. Maybe he has a link for an already compiled library for your system.
Cheers,
