    Hello to everybody!

I am trying to create a bonk patch in pd but am having a little difficulty with. The snag could be an easy one but here is the problem... I want bonk to learn to look for a hand clap. I have hooked up the learn function to bonk but am not sure if bonk is listening... When i play the hand clap file and a music file it creates info from them both but i just want bonk to look for the hand claps.... I am attaching a photo of the patch so if you guys could help me that would be awesome! Thanks!

    Hey y'all!

How are everybody? I am constructing a mixer in pd and would need some info on creating a panner for a channel in pd.... What i understand is that there are several ways of moving audio around in pd but how would i go about building one? It is to do with the pow~ cos~ sig~ objects... Still trying to learn to think in maths when in pd.

    Hi everybody!

I am trying to construct a patch that would do the fft analysis of a waveform. So far i have made the patch as follows:

    [osc~ 440] --------------------
    | | |
    [pd fft-analysis] | hann window |

    then in the sub patch:

    [block size 512]

    [inlet]
    |
    [*~]--[tabreceive~ $0hann]
    |
    [rfft~]
    | |
    [*~] [*~]
    \ /
    [+~]
    |
    [sqrt~]
    \
    [tabwrite~ $0-magnitude]

the problem that i am having is just a visual one. I cant seem to get any read outs on the hann window in the main patch. Any suggestions where i am going wrong?

Hello! I am a noob when it comes to pure data. So now thats out of the way onto the problem at hand: I am trying to get pd to read and play an aiff file but it just wont do it. I used an example i found here on one of the topics but that did not do it.

    read /hdname/users/username/desktop/soundfile.aiff array1

i typed that into the message box and then hooked it up to soundfiler but nothin... i was also wondering could i utilize the mp3cast~ or sfread~ objects?

i am a mac user also! So this is the problem i present to you guys in the hopes of solving it finally! :)

    thank u in advance!

hehe :) got it! I completely spaced for some reason when I was writing this. I looked at it more closely and realised that the hann window function was set to receive but nothing was sending to it. I fixed those bugs and now it is working and outputting to the graphs.

    Hello fellow pd dudes!

I was able to get a song into pd and read it into an array finally! The problem was the aiff format in the end. I changed the path to the shorter format and tried with the aiff file and there was an error message again, this time saying bad header format and such... but now it works. I changed the file to a wav format and now it works!

    Thank you guys!

When i tried the original message it came up with an error message saying no such file or directory....This is weird as the file is on my desktop and i specifically instruct pd to look for the file on the desktop.... Should i construct the patch again?
