I am new to PD and experimenting with it in Windows - as best I can tell sysexin is not a valid command in windows - is that correct?

I have started playing with PureData with TouchOSC in Windows to develop a an iPhone interface that to send and receive midi data.

I have gotten stuck in I want to have a particular toggle be note 16. So I have the send working fine when I click my button on the TouchOSC layout it sends the midi signal through PureData and does what I want.

However I am getting stuck on how to have PureData monitor for note 16 activity and when it does see it on the midi channel to switch the toggle on.

Can anyone help?

I too have recently been playing with PD and TouchoSC . I have been creating a custom Mackie Control Interface - my next step was to try and recieve sysexin data and decipher the ascii into labels on my iPhone.

I dont think the sysexin command works in windows - anybody know or is just something wrong I am doing?

I finally figured it out - I must say this is some pretty cool stuff and I am only scratching the surface.

After I get all the faders and toggles working - it will be time to figure if I can take sysex midi data and logically translate the embedded ascii characetrs into labels on my iPhone.

Ok that definitely has me closer to learning how to do it.

I can now get the the toggle in PD to tie to the toggle in the software that sends the midi signal.

I am stuck getting PD to pass that along to my TouchOSC device.

Can you give a brief overview of how I do that? I copied some PD code from a template I found on line and can get faders to react from the software. Although they are not working yet how I want there is data being passed from the program sending the midid data to PD then out to my iPhone. I am not having any luck getting the toggles on the iPhone to respond.
