    Hi all,
    I'm an absolute beginner on Pd, but I've done the big mistake to promise to a friend of mine a simple "gift" for an exposition he's doing right now.
    What I'm trying to achieve:

    1. a trigger start a sound, choose from a bunch of them;
    2. every time the trigger "bang" a different sound is played;
    3. if triggers overlaps also sounds overlaps;

    All done on a Pc with Vista, Pd-extended, internal audio interface, Eowave Eobody2 with a movement detector, via Max Runtime.

    As said, I'm an absolute beginner on Pd, I've read a lot about it here on the forum and on manuals, but still can find the easiest way to achieve this apparently simple task...

    Can someone introduce me, slowly and step by step, in this amazing world?

    Many thanks

    :-)

    Hi all,
    I've done some tweaking on some patches I've found here on this great forum, beginning with the joncrg's ones.
    Now I have a really simple sample player, triggered by a motion sensor connected via my Eobody2 system.
    Everytime the sensor "bangs" the Pd's patch reads and plays my samples. I've put a modified "up-down-counter" patch to control the volume slider, and done some minor tweaking here and there.
    I got to run it on my Mac: there is no way to make both my ( old...) Pc work on this simple project.
    On Vista I've a lot of audio glitches and Midi strange behaviors, on Xp my Eobody2 ( a midi controller, nothing else) is recognized as "Usb speakers"...

    ( can't find a way to upload the patches, anyway...)

    Many thanks for your patience and assistance, joncrg!
    Meanwhile I've found a way to make your previous patch working with my files: I've put your patch in the same folder of the wav files and renamed them so it can find them.
    Works flawlessly...

    :-)

    Thanx again, Downloading your new patch right now

    Hi joncrg,
    thanks for your answer.
    I read the mod's tutorial and I've done some work on it. Now I can load and play samples, one at a time.
    I've downloaded your patch right now, but I can't figure out how make it work on my silly project, maybe I need another coffee... :-)
    I can't figure out where I have to "put" my .wav files, for example, and I can't understand if I need to do so.
    I've understood that your patch is *the* patch, but maybe I'm too much newbie to dig in it...
    :-)
