Just received a BlinkM (smart LED) and I was wanting to control it from PD. I have been able to communicate with the arduino board previously using the Pduino code but this BlinkM device is a little tricky as it communicates over I2C. I'm guessing that I will use the "BlinkMCommunicator" sketch that converts the I2C to serial but I'm not sure how to send serial from PD. Has anyone else tried this communication with PD and could point me in the right direction, I know its been done with MAX.

Any ideas on how i get round this problem.

    iemabs: can't load library
    iemmatrix: can't load library
    liblist: can't load library

i just downloaded Pd 0.39.3-extended and my Pd sequencer program is no longer working and i seem to have OSC communication only one way with my monome. Pd is receiving but the monome is not. :(

I've installed and reinstalled the latest build of Pd extended but i still have a number of libraries that wont load. These include pmpd and iemabs both of which have useful objects i like to use. I have went back to 0.38.4 for the time being. Can somebody please point me in the right direction to sort out this problem. I'm running OS X 10.4.11.

    Thanks

This message is mainly to Andy but since i have just discovered this patch that Andy wrote and the fact that I think it is brilliant i thought i would share my comments with everyone else.

I have a couple of questions:

How do i get into the guts of this patch- user interface is very nice by the way?

I am planning on making this patch function from my monome 256 and was planning on sharing with monome community- full recognition would obviously be given to you. Is that OK?

The usual command to shift between windows within a program doesn't seem to work for PD. Is there an alternative? Its normally "applekey" and "~".

Whats the easiest way to copy one array to another. At the moment I am using metro to read all points and then write this to another. Is there a simpler way, i've been looking all over the help browser. If there isn't, what would be the best time to set the metro at?

Thats the weird thing, nothing seems to be broken in my patch. Its even accepting OSC messages, just not sending them!

Seem to be navigating the patch fine enough now. And i have the monome hooked up to select the functions from the programmer and a midi controller for the amplitudes. I think i'm gonna have a go at adding some more drums and maybe some FX but my experience with Pd so far has been completely non-audio so this should be a real learning experience.

One thing i would like to ask is how easy it would be to add flam to the sounds?

Also the timing on TH seems really tight compared with sequencer programs i've written before that send over midi. (check if your interested) Any advice on keeping this timing tight when writing sequencer type programs or is my problem just the fact that i'm using midi?

    @domien said:

I encountered this before, and then i put the externals in the unauthorized folder. Now i've just put them in the extra folder and then they seem to load.

    Maybe this helps?

Sounds good, but what do you mean by the "unauthorised folder" and where did you get the externals to put them in the folder? Are they a separate download?

    Thanks
