I have just been making some changes to a set of patches and saved them; but when run them and look at them again, the changes have been undone; I redid the edits, closed them and opened them again, I find my changes are not there. Eventually I shut down PD and restarted it and redone the edits. This time they appear to have stuck.
Has anyone encountered this problem and know what is causing it? I would not want to do significant edits, for them to be lost.
    I am on 0.43.4-extended.

I have a set of processes that should create random delays before starting. I have noticed that the order of the processes starting is the same each time and the delays are the same. i.e. random numbers come from a list of random numbers held somewhere within PD and they are read off the list each time a random number is triggered. I encountered this problem years ago when programming in Basic. In Basic there was a randomiser that reset the numbers to guarantee a truly random sequence, or at least a much less predictable one. Is there an equivalent "randomise" object in PD?

When I started up Pd today I got a load of error messages. Every single one failed to load.

    starting:
    tried .\\libdir.m_i386 and failed
    tried C:\\windows\\Fonts\\libdir.m_i386 and failed
tried C:\\Program Files (x86)\\pd\\extra\\cyclone\\libdir.m_i386 and failed
    ...

On seeing there was a new version of Pd available, I downloaded version 0.43.4-extended. It has made no difference; I still get the same error messages. On the positive side, Pd still seems to work.

Is this something I should worry about?

I have yet to start using MIDI as a means to controlling my patches, but I have seen many references to MIDI Yoke and wonder if I need it. In Pd Media it is possible to go into MIDI settings and specify the MIDI device being used for input and output. Assuming I am only using one MIDI input device, can I not specify that device here? What does MIDI Yoke do that I cannot do without it? I have also seen references to other bits of software (MIDI OX); is there anything else I should be considering?

Has anyone used the QuNeo as an i/f for Pd? If so, is it a good tool? Would you recommend anything else (maybe cheaper ones)? Are pad controllers preferable to keyboard controllers or do you use both?

Every time I come to this website I get the message, "The site's security certificate is not trusted!" Is anything being done to address this issue?

I am new to pd but have plans to use it solo and alongside acoustic instruments in small to medium sized venues (no electric guitars or other amplified instruments). I know little about the requirements for performance so need advice on what to look for in an active speaker (or is my question the wrong one?) So far I only seem to be able to find info on guitar and keyboard combi speakers. I realise the guitar ones are no good and for some keyboard speakers I have seen references to compression being used for connection to laptops. Using the home speaker systems and my hi-fi I can tell that the frequency range of pd is quite challenging, so I expect a fair bit of power and large sub-woofer is necessary. What criteria are important?

Without any response, I gave up on QuNeo and am considering a tablet when the funds are available.

Thanks, I had selected it by mistake the last time I had used Pd. However, with the new version I am still getting the following:

    memento: can't load library
    pixeltango: can't load library
    rradical: can't load library
    toxy: can't load library
    flib: can't load library
    flatspace: can't load library

Do I need to find these libraries from other sources?

Thanks for the advice. I would much prefer to leave amplification up to the venue, but I am a member of a local contemporary composers group that organises concerts in a variety of venues lacking their own equipment, often churches, so if I am to use pd I will need my own active speakers.
