    Hi there all.

Totally stumped on this. Got two PC's, both sharing the same wifi through the same router. Desktop has no problem using TouchOSC to control pd, but with the correct IP address reset on the iPhone app, nothing happens on my laptop.

I installed in exactly the same way, all ipconfig settings are identical (Except for the different IP's on each PC), the wifi recieve light flickers on my laptop when i play with TouchOSC so i know it's recieving the iPhone signals. It just doesn't seem to want to control pd.

    Any help will be wonderful!

    Hi everyone. Quick summary:

    • This works fine on my desktop PC, it's my laptop that is having problems.
    • I do not have any sort of firewall on.
    • I'm not trying to control both desktop and laptop at the same time
    • When I open the TouchOSC app and set it to the correct IP address of my laptop, i can see the activity light on my PCMCIA wifi card flicker when i use the app on my iPhone, so the laptop is definately recieving a signal from my iPhone.
    • Both laptop and PC have the same version of PureData installed.

The issue seems to just be that PureData is not recognising the data coming in for some reason. All my settings in ipconfig are fine. I've compared the desktop settings (Which work) with my laptop and they both match (Apart from the IP address but i change that on the app to match my laptop). I can get online with my laptop so it connects to my wifi network ok.

There is no reason why this isn't working apart from some silly Windows setting. My desktop is XP Pro SP2, laptop is XP Pro SP3 so wonder whether anyone knows of new things may have been added in SP3 that might need disabling.

Thanks for all your help people.

Cheers for the replies but no joy i'm afraid. When pd-extended is running and i have the approriate pd file loaded with a TouchOSC interface, it states dumpOSC 8000 so port seems to be set correctly. Ip addresses are paired.

Very odd one. As i said, works perfectly on my desktop so i know both the iPhone app and puredata works (I've got the same version on my laptop) but it just seems for some reason, puredata won't read the signals coming from my iPhone, even though activity is being recorded by the laptop.

I dont have any firewall as i use my desktop for internet access so that isn't preventing access.

Will keep plugging away but seriously low on ideas so any pointers would be much appreciated. It's bound to be something silly...
