I know it's probably something very simple but I have been trying to figure this out.

I'm using ableton live and would like to change its tempo using PD. Ableton can learn and accept MIDI note and CC messages from controllers to control various things like volume faders, knobs, buttons, etc. (Map mode)

I would like to use MIDI CC messages to increase or decrease (by one) so when I map the tempo to the "ctlout" it changes by one as well.

Mapping the tempo to faders or rotary knowbs works but the amount is not precise.

By the way i'm using touch OSC to interface with PD. So basically I have this right now:

searched this forum so I am posting this. I would like to know how data from ableton (clip names, meter levels, knobs, faders, etc..) can be sent to pd and reflect visually.

For example If I had ableton and PD open, (by routing faders, toggles, etc) I am able to trigger control and midi messages to ableton via Midiyoke. However I want to be able to move the same parameters in ableton and be able to see the toggles and faders move in PD. I have heard of soundflower and jack but not very familiar.

basically I am interested in 2 way communication.

I have messed around with ST8's Livetouch which is a touchOSC control surface for ipod/pad but it uses its own python scrips instead of PD. I would like to do this with PD if possible.

Would like to test this with just a basic fader in PD (control out) mapped to the ableton master fader. Easy right?

From here would like to see "what has to be done" to make the PD fader move remotely from the fader in ableton. I think I could figure out the rest once I get the hang of what is going on

I am sorry for asking for this but I have been banging my head trying to figure this out so I promise i will be forever thankful if someone shows me the light.

I'm looking for a solution to this as well. I would like to be able to increase/decrease Abletons bpm/tempo from PD CC messages. Any luck?
