Hello,
I have a patch running random numbers and a metronome counting to demarcate the borders of different sections of my composition.
The flow of random numbers is turned off with a toggle.
How do I also turn off the metronome with the same toggle, without adding connecting them directly?
Thanks,
Petetron

I tried to create my own abstraction [beats-per-minute]
I almost successfully mimicked the Cheetomoskeeto YouTube Pd #16 tutorial on Simple Abstractions.
However, there were no visible file addresses in my search window, I had to press "new" in order to trigger a search for the beats-per-minute file.
I added, this, and [beats-per-minute] worked, but then I could not use traditional objects like [bng].
I deleted the file in the preferences window, and it works fine now.
I am using an Intel chip Macbook Pro
Do you have any advice about file structure / installation of Pd?
I have attached a screen shot of my blank preferences console.

I installed PD as instructed on an Intel Macbook Pro.
I have X11 updated, and have set preferences to defaults.
I have tried other settings than the default.
But, I still cannot create a "bng".
I have attached a screenshot of the canvas and console.
