Hi everyone !

i'd like to play a sound file in pd-vanilla (recent download) in xp, to apply my patch to it. The \ (antislash) character is always discarded, including in the 'file paths' window. same inside a patch when using 'open'. What's the trick please ?

i tried again what you said and it doesn't work. The documentation says that the \ and [ etc symbols are removed from the GUI : i got the message
"keycode 92: dropped"
but the documentation doesn't explain what xp users should do to play a file like
C:\music\Artist\Track_99.wav (where an empty space symbols seems to be unwanted)

Another unclear parameter is the meaning of ../ , does it refer to /pd/smthg only or also to any chosen path in the file->path menu ?

i believe that M. Pucket implemented this character removal to avoided troubles on linux, but we need to disable this option for xp. i didn't find how to do it and don't know how to reach him. Help !
