I'm working on the poly version of an additive synth patch.

I cannot understand why I'm getting greyed out cable connections in the attached patch, AddPolySynth.

I know if it is not receiving a solid connection it will grey out like it has, but I've hooked up an env~ up to each step of the path and am getting signal. All messages are banging correctly, and all I hear is a low pitched bump lasting >300ms.

    What am I missing?

I'm using this to generate an amplitude envelope with a vline~:
    0 10, 0.75 250 10, 0.6 150 260, 0 75 410

Does anything stick out that would cause the vline~ to not ramp as indicated above?

Below is the patch that I'm feeding this message into to generate the amplitude for the oscillator contained. It's for a polysynth additive voice I'm cooking up and I'm not getting any envelope activity at the sum end when feed with the proper paramters.

Thanks for looking at this(if you do).

I can't seem to find a math object to allow custom root of a number; I've found sqrt but what if I'm interested in taking the cube(3) or dodeca(12) root?

Is there an object for this?

If it does exist I'd imagine it would follow a similar syntax of 'pow'.

How quirky, I thought the poly ID stuck with it. Thanks, Maelstorm

I didn't know about that difference with pd-extended. However as set AddPolySynth if a midi controller were connected and triggered, the note in question should be ringing out with all of its partials.

The parent isn't quite complete, but here is what's there so far. Only the first partial is hooked up, but from everything I've been tinkering it is not sounding out.

I'm using stripnote to remove the note-off events; the note value routes into the abstraction and is multiplied both translated into a frequency and multiplied with a modal value to give the partial needed; the velocity data is turned into a bang which will eventually bang on all the envelope values on the right.

What I do find funny is that that using env~ attached to a number object I see envelopes generating after each of the abstractions, even after att-

Damnit, now it's working. I did modify the original file I uploaded here(add_ab) in one way; I took the 'unpack f f f' out of the line and connected the mtof directly to the new partial inlet.

I started with a polysynth parent attempt, but scaled back to a mono until i had a working framework for one voice. Which I have now.

On a seperate note, is using expr the best way to generate log based envelope curves?

That was it, thank you. I was not using proper syntax.
