use the alpha layer instead of pix_mix ...

one easyer way would be to use midi controler from Osc :
you assign whatever u want (accel, pitch ...) to a midi controleur (like control 2) in Oscu, then get it in Pd, using "ctrl in 2" from the left outlet u'll get a value (0 to 127) ...
