    hi,

Being a beginner both with linux stuff and Pd maybe i miss something : everytime i'm trying to open a simple .pd file (with no external objects and few elements...) that i create previously (on OSX), the Pd console told me things like :

    "error: ??áÄ#ué: no such object
error: ?ô56?e+??+?K??p$ ?9ÏÖåÎ`y?4ÚKpjr: no such object
    error: ??Ã~FÑ#_: no such object
error: ?xoÑþ>2?~tÒ%?\}Q÷&?)R(w? ?)ÍqÄ×s???Û?rû?Rþ?_tÚL@?uÍîmm<?1În?Mq?jÇ<ÃyÌ????vÃ'(ÁÎr??84: no such object
    error: å?:)á?T?^: no such object
    error: ?îâ@+?'á?ci???: no such object
    error: ú: no such object"

    I don't understand what's the matter.

Can someone explain me what's wrong, and how could i open my old .pd files ?

    Thanx,

    A.

    hi,

I'm trying to use Gem on my laptop Acer TravelMate 2312 with a SiS graphic chipset ([SiS] 661/741/760 PCI/AGP or 662/761Gx PCIE VGA Display Adapter, says the lspci on the console) : everytime i create a new gem window, PureData quit and my Ubuntu session restart !
Could someone give me some piece of advices please, knowing that i'm a beginner with Ubuntu/Linux ?

    Thanx,

    A.

    hi

I'd like to use the rradical external [memento] but i can't manage to use because Pd couldn't create the [OSCroute $1] and the [OSCroute /preset /substate] object.

How do i install it, can anyone tell me that ?

Hardware/software : OSX, pd 0.39.2 extended-test2, tcl/tk 8.4.10.0 (if it has something to deal with)

    thanx,

    A.

It's a consistent kind of problem since everytime i try to load one of these pd files create with my previous ubuntu laptop on my new ubuntu laptop, the pd console write crazy messages as quote upward...

Maybe i should try to open them on OSX where it loads well, then save them, and eventually try to load them again with pd/ubuntu (!!!)...

With computer, the longest is sometimes the simplest, isn't it ? :)

    Thanx for your answers.

Eventually, it seems that it's only the pd files i've created on ubuntu (on my previous laptop) during a workshop that i can't open. Because yesterday i've tried to open a patch from this forum and it was working, and now i can open my old OSX patch... (pd help files load well too)

As bz say, it must be a character encoding issue because i can't manage to open this .pd file even with an ubuntu's text editor. Otherwise i can load these files from pd on OSX.

The pd version is 0.39.3-extended-rc5-debian-stable, from Hans homepage...

    Here's a very simple file i can't open from ubuntu :

If it can help someone (not to choose this kind of chipset) : openGL isn't supported by [SiS] 661/741/760 PCI/AGP and 662/761Gx PCIE, so no 3D rendering and no GEM with them...
