I am trying to create an editor for my Waldorf Blofeld external synth. The blofeld can receive midi CC over usb. Every time I open the midi setting to set the output to the Blofeld Pd quits entirely. I have tried a number of USB cables.

Logic, Ableton, as well as Max have no trouble sending midi notes and CC to the Blofeld. Has anyone else had this problem?
