    Hi there.

I want to connect external camera to pd, but using hdmi cable or wi/fi connection (go pro). so not by using usb port like several webcams. pix_video cant recognize anything except usb webcams.

do any one knows how to do that?

    thanks.

    Hi everyone.
I tried to find some topic about this injury but I didn't find.

Anyhow, for some gem objects ( for example [pix_rgba] ) when I right click and click properties, pd crashes.
It happens for some object and for some no.

I have the same problem on different machines running XP and W7, 32 and 64 bit.

    any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.
    marko.

    Hi everyone !

I made some patch which cut your web cam view into a tin rectangles, which mooves along x axis. Details I explained in patch.

But, I can not record what I see in GEM window. I tried to connect [pix_record] with [pix_texture] and [rectangle] but that way , I only get first left rectangle recorded.

If you are in the mood, check out my patch, and tell me what you think of recording it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi everyone !

    I have a problem.

I made some patch which works with small video file ( 65 frames, .MOV extension , 2MB, 5 seconds long) and the same patch wont open large video files (23000 frames, .MOV extension , 3.5 GB, 15 minutes long).

PD window gives message like this :

    GEM: Start rendering
    GL: invalid value
    GL: invalid value
    GL: invalid value
    GL: invalid value
    GL: invalid value
    GL: invalid value
    GL: invalid value...

also, gives the same message when i play small file, but it manage to render.

is there some GEM limitations or what?

    so...

    i did some research...
here is what worked for me:

download and instal VLC player and manycam software.

    than wach this video :

this video shows you how to grab go pro wifi signal in to the VLC player and than, to grab that signal in to the manycam.

than you use [device $f( message foe pix_video object in pd to grab manycam picture in pd. for me [device 3( is doing a job.

    nice ha?

    hood luck !

    yeah...

    .mov is working fine....

thank you sunji you realy helped me !
and of course all you in this topic !

still, not sure, how is possible to use GEM normally for 4-5 years and never been forced to chose beckend (like sasquatcheatskittens explains) in the open massage.
also, as i understood, beckend is the way of how communication between file you load and final render in GEM window.
is this written in some GEM manual, id like to reed it.
I mean, where to find [open( massage flags for pix_film?

    Hi guido !
    Thanks for the effort !
I tried to load your patch, but only manage to load [pix_shader].
other patch [analogGlitch] closes the PD with message "...bla, bla, pure data has stopped working, close the program ..."

I don't know what to do, I have that problem with loading many other gem help patches....
I opened topic about that problem on this forum but nobody answers....hehehe....
    thanks anyway....

just,..... I never used max, so I have to ask what to do with this link you send to me?
From what you said, i concluded it should work in gem, but I never did such a thing in gem.
