Hello everyone,

I am an absolute pd beginner, currently learning it at university. I am very interested in speech processing and i am very keen to get started with pd but i have been attempting to fix the same issue for almost two weeks to no avail. I have tried contacting my university but they seem to be little help also.

I am running ubuntu 20 and whilst I am getting sound output on ALSA, i am receiving the red Audio I/O error and the audio that is being produced has an overbearing loud static. I have an i7 8th gen so i dont think it is CPU overload?

I am so unbelievably desperate for help.
