Hey There,

I'm running a [seq] object into a [midiout], and im trying to change the midi channel [midiout] uses. I tried using a midiformat, but the midi notes dont seem to pass through it. I also tried using a noteout instead, attached to the [seq] object. But in the help it says that noteout doesnt work supposedly. Do you perhaps have any idea how I can change the midi channel for midi out?

Hopefully the attached screenshot will help me explain myself.

Im working on an interactive algorithmic composing patch using markov chains, based mostly around the tutorials on http://algorithmiccomposer.blogspot.com/.

Im trying to get second order Markov Chains working, and there is only a tutorial for max. I need an object to make a list like so…

With an example input of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

I need an output of this…

1 2 3
2 3 4
3 4 5
4 5 6
5 6 7 etc

This is what the 'zl stream 3' object is supposed to do in Max supposedly. What object do i use in PD to do the same job? Or is zl stream available for download?

Hey there,

I'm new to this forum, and relatively new to pure data. Ive just started experimenting with it for university. My problem is im trying to make an algorithmic composition patch, and I am in the very basic stages of just trying to make a Midi note sound. However, I don't get any midi note sound coming out. Compute audio is checked, my midi drivers are set correctly (im on a macbook pro so using IAC driver) and my audio output is set correctly. The patch is also correct (i've checked it a few times)

I've also tried installing a different (older) version of Pd, currently using Pd version 0.41.4-extended.

Would you guys perhaps have any idea of what is wrong? or what im doing wrong?

Thanks Maelstrom. That may have gone over my head slightly! As im a bit of a beginner with Pure Data. If I show you a screenshot of how I was trying to use zl stream. could you explain how to implement your attached patch?

I fixed it now. I'm just triggering a piano instrument in logic. and it turns out i hadn't connected the instrument to the IAC bus in the environment window! Stupid mistake!
