Hi, was just wondering if there is a function allowing If/Or routing in Pure Data. What I need is an object that will output 1 if the input data is between either of two different ranges (say 0-50 or 100-150) and if it isn't output 0.

I've looked at both the relational operators and the Expr object but can't quite get my head around how this particular situation would be handled.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jon

    Hi,

Has anyone managed to get the newest version of Blender (2.57 I think) to send data over OSC to Pd??

There are a couple of guides and examples around but they seem to be out of date now as Blender has seen quite a lot of changes recently.

I am trying to use the python OSC libraries found here: http://www.ixi-software.net/content/backyard.html

Any with this would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

I've been using PD for about a week now and as my first patch have made a pretty simple 4 channel loop player with BPM syncing and a few other basic features.

Whilst the functionality of my patch is fine, I'm having a problem in that whenever I load a new loop into an array using [openpanel] - [read -resize $1 loopA] - [soundfiler] I get a brief stuttering/glitchiness in any audio that is currently playing. The effect is brief enough that it doesn't really bother me if I'm just playing around with loops, but it wouldn't be acceptable in a live performance situation.

I don't think it is a hardware performance issue with my laptop as the same problem also occurs at my Uni on a top end 12-core Mac. More likely is that my patch needs optimizing as, being very new to PD, I have probably used a lot of dodgy workarounds to get my patch to work rather than more efficient methods.

However, I am reluctant to completely remake this patch as I would prefer to move onto a new project so was wondering if there were any common culprits for creating this glitching when loading WAVs that I could easily fix/replace? Are there any other general PD optimization tricks a new user like me should be aware of and that I can take into account for my next patch?

    Thanks for any help!

Thanks very much, the [||] object sorted out all my problems!

    Hi guys,

Using OSC to Blender and vice versa works fine in 2.49b Blender, just not the new version. I'm just sticking to the older version for now, the functionality is still the same.

I used the examples found here: http://www.ixi-audio.net/content/download/blender_osc.tar to get me started, hope this helps!

You can, though, at least automate loading many soundfiles. I recently did something that would dynamically create

Thanks for the reply, so am I right in thinking there is no way to create a sampler/looper patch where you can load up WAVs without planning and initializing them beforehand? Is this something that may be addressed in future releases of PD or simply a limitation of the software?
