I'm running PCLinuxOS and (fortunately) PD version 0.40-3 is available in the respos. I've installed it and it works fine, but I'd like to play around with PD-Extended.

What I'm not sure about it whether I have to do a complete un-install of my version of PD and then reinstall pd-extended from the source files I've downloaded, or can I just "upgrade" my current PD install by installing the externals that would make up pd-extended.

What's the best course of action?
