I'm having the same problem here. OSX 10.9.2. MacBook Pro Mid 2010.
I was trying to change the audio preferences in PD when it hanged.
I have deleted saved application files but could'n restart PD ever again. The app icon keeps bouncing on my dock.
any ideas? thanks.

EDIT: I trashed preferences and got PD back again!
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/org.puredata*
