Hi Christian,
o.k. I try.
I have a german distribution on my computer so I have to take the german names.
First:
Put " deb http://apt.puredata.info/releases lucid main"
as a new source under (Einstellungen/Paketquellen/Andere Software). Now there should be two lines.
One with
" deb http://apt.puredata.info/releases lucid main"
and a second with
" deb http://apt.puredata.info/releases lucid main(Quelltext)"Change the word lucid with maverick in both lines under "Bearbeiten" then it should work.
If not, it could be neccessary to have installed the normal puredata with some extensions (like puredata-import, etc.) from synaptec before you try to install pd-extended. You can find it regularely with "Schnellauswahlfilter" in "Synaptec-Paketverwaltung".
That is all I done with it. Hope this a help for you.
Good luck !Joerg

Hi sunji,
thanks for the link.
I tried with different packages and wanted to install them with the softwarecenter, but it didn't work. So next step was to install via Synaptec under other software with the link from Steiner for installation in Ubuntu.
What worked in the end was to copy this to the other software links (deb http://apt.puredata.info/releases lucid main) and replace "lucid" with "maverick" (deb http://apt.puredata.info/releases maverick main). Now so far it works. I have not checked all basics like different soundcards with jack, but it works in stereo with alsa over desktop speakers.Best
