I have input codes to load 2 mp4 videos. They alone did crossfade. Apparently, [pix_mix] emits a gemlist. The video camera also is supposed to issue a gemlist.

However when I add the onboard camera, (when it did work) the fade does not operate on it, as it stays at full opacity, and the previously crossfaded images are behind it, or and worse, on some occaisions it just does not work at all, after doing so to start with during the project.

Basically, what I'm trying to achieve is to firstly crossfade the vid1 and vid2, then to take that output from [pix_mix] and to mix it with the camera video, via a 2nd [pix_mix], so I have 3 images being crossfaded.

The camera video is not behaving as intended. Hot and cold restarts have been tried. Also checking back on video01 in Gem, which is where the code for webcam was got, the camera in that is still working ok. I've had other strange phenomena appearing without making changes to the code, like a white sphere appearing over the camera image when it was happening, and also, sometimes, just a white screen instead.

Any ideas? Should I drop the webcam as it is so uncooperative and volatile?

    If you look at page...
http://www.sharktracks.co.uk/lcc/dmd1/PDintro.html you may see an ADSR down the page.

I have downloaded the file and printed the picture showing the calling convention. However, when I attach number boxes to the inlets, then change, in the levels of the sliders are not reflected in the number boxes.

I have a calling of adsr as the picture shows, but no parameters apparently on the abstraction side of the adsr patch.

Both the adsr.pd and also the patch which calls is are copied onto a *.doc file, which if it uploads it, will show the connection. Perhaps you could advise as to what exactly is wrong with it.

I have tried to attach a 4 voice example we were given in school... Poly.pd, it has a subpatch named note. However when I try to 'submit', then the file name gets cleared, and this message continues to appear in the Message field.

There are 4 calls to note.pd in Poly.pd. However, when I modify note.pd via one of the calls, it seems to keep a separate version of note, which is then in conflict with those calls that were not used to call up note.pd.

Are there separate versions for each position of 'pd note', and if yes how do I modify just 1 version of note.pd to affect all 4 calling positions?

Does anyone know of, or has an example of 'bendin' on a patch. The pd help does not show how to integrate that object into a patch. I don't know where to send the pitchbend data, but have surmised that the value given is all positive so that half of it must be subtracted so that an absence of pitchbend registers as 0.

Thanks for such a prompt reply.

If I could only upload the patch, then what I've written may be clear to you. There are 4 calls to [pd note], and they all appear to be separate instances of it. I've labelled them voice1..voice4 and that's how they appear when I click on the relevant call to [pd note].

Maybe someone there can help me to upload a patch. It seems to me that the upload function is not working, even when I ignore Preview and just click Submit. I'm reasonably sure there is something wrong with the file selector...

Hi Gromit, thanks, but I didn't use the preview button, I just selected the file and wanted to upload the file added, then the submit button, but the file field just kept getting cleared.

    Regards, D, administrator,
I only have [pd note], and was hoping for only 1 copy to make adjustments to, for a 4 voice (and 4 calls) file, without there being separate instances for each file. However when I made change to 1 call of it ([pd note]), clicking on [pd note], I found that there appeared to be other instances of it which were not updated. Obviously a 10 voice synth would then need individual adjustments to each instance, which for my project presently could be untenable.

How may I send the pd file to you on this page or by preferred other means... then the question may be quite obvious to you...

Thanks to both of you for your help...

I could not get an attachment to work in the 'Post a reply' page.

I wrote my message, then browsed for the file, then clicked 'Submit' repeatedly, but until the attachment address field was empty, the Message would not upload.
