salamz!
i've been thinking about this for quite a while now and still can't get it right: how do i build an mpc-like swing in a sequencer or a periodical loop banger?
also, i'd warmly welcome a detailed technical explanation of how swing works.
thank you! -

this seems to be a problem for many people but i can't make the [plugin~] object work, or rather function, because i can make a [plugin~] object but i can't connect it to any of the plugins even though the path to my plugin collection is there. what is more, i am talking about ladspa plugins, i don't use vst (i know there are some issues with those). does anyone have suggestions on what might be the problem?
i use extended on debian squeeze amd64, installed from an architecture-forced 32-bit .deb.
thousand thanks in advance!

hey there geeky fellas!
i was wondering if anyone ever attempted synthesizing double-bass or anything close to that. i am particularly interested in this 'close to that' cause i don't like the idea of imitating 'real' instruments through synthesis.
oh, and i mean pizzicato double-bass, not bowed. bow is a phasor.
thanx!

hi!
this is my first 'big' patch, i'm a noob, so advice/critique/encouragement welcome!
it's a completely synthetic, controllable percussion machine. it has five tracks and four sequencers which makes it polyphonic. kick, snare, hihat and two other digital percussive sounds. then there are few randomizers and a slicer.edit: apologies. trying to upload again.

good evening ladies, gentlemen and the rest!
i'll try to put it comprehensively. sorry if i fail.
let's say you have a [line~] object with a message [$1, a b<, where $1 is a variable, 'a' is a parameter and 'b' is a period in which the ramp gets to the parameter 'a'. this is very helpful but since the message tells the [line~] object to get to the parameter $1 in 0 ms we hear something like a click. how do you avoid this click?
i tried to figure a way to do this with [pack] and/or [trigger], but couldn't.
thanks for any help!

hi everyone!
i'd like to ask what are the objects to be used in order to play samples backwards?
also, what object determines and outputs length of a loop that has been loaded to an array?
thanks!

that's a sort of a cycle that i use:
pd patch for drum sound layering --> ardour for effects on the sounds --> hydrogen for beat sequencing --> pd for beatloop playback, sampling/looping and synthesis --> ardour again for recording the session
- occasionally i use audacity to cut out some samples real quickly.
