I built a very simple patch to work with my Digi 002, and now whenever I select that interface (even opening PD with no patch open) the application crashes. With a normal application, I would simply toss the preferences and restart it, but what do I throw out in this case?
History of the problem: after using the Mac on another gig that required use of a MOTU UltraLite (not using PD, but rather, Live) I came home to find the crashing behavior. Digi 002 disappeared from the Mac Sound preferences as well. Rebooted and reset the PRAM and the 002 re-appeared in the Sound Manager, but still crashes PD when I select it in the PD audio settings. Seems to work just fine when selecting the built-in sound. One other stray note. Tried to use Soundflower and Soundflowerbed to route audio to the 002; Soundflowerbed locked up but did not crash, however I had to restart the computer.
Macbook Pro unibody, OS 10.6.8, PD 0.43.4-extended.
Any illumination? Thanks in advance dc

I found a solution to my particular problem. CoreAudio Manager will often switch the buffer size, particularlly if I openes some other SW like Live or PT. Opening CoreAudio Manager and manually setting the buffer to 64 allowed the PD patch to open right up.
CA Manager can do some random sh%t and pretty often. The Pro Tools version is that it will select an input that crashes PT on startup. The solution is to hold down the "s" key while starting PT which allows you to pick your own I/O as the app is starting.
