Just wanted to introduce myself, I am Dara Shayda writing from beautiful Toronto.

I hope to make friends here to learn Pd for algorithmic compositions.

In particular I am working on human chants and emergent phonemes.

I have already read Farnell's book and now ready to program.

Special thanx for the moderators and organizers of this place

If you are interested in sounds e.g. bouncing ball or engine sound or bees buzzing and so on, please see the book by Farnell

    Sound Design, MIT press.

It removes the myth off the sound engineering and since it is Pd based you can see how powerful and useful Pd is.

This is a good book to learn the mustic theory and math involved:

I agree with ShankarBaba, probably you have the wrong install file. It should be trivial to install and it is amazingly flaw-less, given the breadth of its application.

So don't feel shy to ask for help.

I recommend you uninstall and delete everything and re-do a full install and ask us if you need help.

great I would like to learn how to do that for both hands, I am working on synths that generate chants or chorus i.e. instead the usual electronic music, I want the (x,y) coors map into a human voice database of somekind and the listener to hear chants generated and varied as the (x,y) moves along some path.

So I can learn from u I hope.

Thanx, I was bit scared I was in the wrong place, so what is that you are working on if you do not mind.

I was using Super Collider but the documentation is inadequate and the community is not useful.
