    Hello.

I am looking for some info on hardware for motion sensors and other sensors and how to connect them to Pure Data / or Max (is this a dirty word?). to be honest I have no experience when It come to the hardware side of things and I've been asked to help out with an Installation for a friend. I am fairly competent with the programming.

    any info Big help.

    Hello.

I am trying to build a sound filer that allows me to play WAV. files from the hard drive. I have cracked everything I need except how to play the WAV files at different speeds and durations. at the moment if I want to do this (ie play files at a different speed) I have to retype the message box every time.

Ideally i would like to use slider that I could then use midi to adjust in real time.

I have looked at several granulators like Grain's and particle chamber b ut I really don't what I need to look for. I am still new to this.

I have attached an example of my soundfiler.

    any help much appreciated

    Hello.

I was just wondering if it was possible to use the touch screen on the DS and using
    OSC get PD to work.
I recently built a small kaos pad in PD and would like to know if I can control it with my DS touch screen.

    thanks

    Hello

yesterday I was filtering some [pink~] with [lop~].

I accidently typed [lop] (no tide) and a whole new object popped up.

I have never seen this before and tried to get to grips with it,
However all I was left with was extreme white noise which I could'nt adjust with any volume control and a number box with [nan\ inside it.

there was no signal being fed into the [lop]

I was just wondering if anybody had come across this before and If so what is the
main purpose of the object. I don't really understand the terminology of the help on this one.

    Ok.

will a little bit of help and some thinking I managed to get Pd and monome talking.

I can send information to monome and i can trigger bangs on Pd, half way there.

now all I need is a little bit of help assisigning monomes buttons to individual sliders / bangs / etc. at the moment all i can get to work is a bang when I hold the buttons down (if that makes any sense)
I hold down a button on monome and the bang (my patch) starts, I release the button and the Bang (and my patch) stops.

how do I get the buttons and my bang to stay on. is there special code to do this.

basically all I want to do is assign buttons to individual bangs, much like the way I would have done this with a midi keyboard.

    please help.

oh and if anyone is needing any help setting up a monome with Pd i posted a comment on the monome forum listing what i did.
    just look for my name.

    Hi all.

I'm having a little bit of difficulty getting my monome 40h to work with PD.
I have looked at various forums on this but still no real help. I have downloaded
    monomeserial and max 5 runtime.
(I also had mapd but I have spoken to the guys at monome, they said it is depreciated)

now I can get my OS X to recognize the monome, the led's work etc but I don't now how to input into PD. all I'm looking to do is assign monomes buttons to various bangs and sliders, much the same way as any other midi controller.

    any Ideas

    thanks

    Hey.

I got it in the end. basically the patch had [loadbang] attached to a [f $0]. this obviously wasn't initiating when I copied and paste the patch.

I just attached a bang to the [f $0] and [soundfiler] picks up the WAV. file no plroblem. thanks for the help.

    Alistair

thanks for the looper, i can start to see what I have to do.

However, and this is what is really beginning to piss me off about PD.

your patch works fine, I can change the speeds etc with sliders and line no problem.
I can add to it and i can take stuff out. great.

    but

when i try and build one from scratch with the exact same objects and number boxes
It wont work. when i look for the last error [soundfiler] turns blue. so for some reason that is not working. I have no idea how this is and i'm beginning to think I am missing something in PD.

note: [soundfiler] works any other time.

    hope someone can help
