Hey, I'm just starting to use Pd and have serious problems doing so. I get tons of error messages, even just doing things exactly as seen in tutorials. Toggle only works about 50% of the time and sometimes I don't even get any sound at all.

Right now, my main problem is making a counter object. I'm looking at a tutorial video in Youtube, where the guy types in the word "counter" into an object box and it just turns into one automatically, with lots of inlets and outlets. Mine gets a dotted line and the program tells me it "couldn't create counter". I also can't seem to find it in the help section. Is it possible I have a different version? Is this perhaps a Mac problem? Or am I just too stupid a blonde to figure this out?

I also have the big sword of time hanging over me: This is just a small part of an assignment due tomorrow and I've been busy with a paper for another class so I didn't have time to get started until now... Help!

No, it didn't help. I keep getting "error unknown" messages

But I'm downloading the mac version of Pd extended as we speak.

I've got Pd-0.42-5. And my operating system is Mac OSX version 10.5.8, snow leopard, I think.

(I am completely lost in all of this...)
