hello,
i wanted to build a patch like the one in this doepfer-tutorial video:
at min 7
what i love about the sound is the subtle complextity added by CV2. i understand the effect of CV1 where the lfo is driving the pitch of the oscillator. now i spent hours messing around with fm patches, but i have no idea how recreate this with pd (not in terms of sound quality, the logic behind the patch,
attached my best try so far). help very much appreciated. many thanks in advance. -

i found a very good tutorial on building (and summing) LFOs: "you just scale the output of each waveform by the reciprocal of the number of waveforms you want to sum (1/2 or .5, 1/3 or .33, etc.) and then add them together."

to answer myself, the term frequency modulation in the doepfer video is missleading, starting with fm patches was no good idea, much simpler, "just" two LFOs added together driving the pitch with different intensity and phase.
