I'm working on a patch and I'm nearly finished. The problem i'm trying to iron out is: every time i move a volume fader or any other fader by that matter I get clicks and zipper noise. I know that you can use Line~ to do this but i'm struggling to find a way. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
I've got a lot further in making my tape delay.
I am currently trying to implement saturation in my patch.
Basically what i've done is written the value of tanh to a table, i am outputting this through a number of daisy-chained subpatches called satmod2.
It isn't really working giving no sound or really heavily distorted/superbitcrushed output.
Is there a way I can remedy this or a better way i can implement saturation in the patch.
'Tape delay user interface' is the open file.

Ok this might sound really stupid but can someone tell me how I can write/input a series of numbers to a table. I'm making a saturation patch and want to have a linear response curve stored in a table. I can write audio to a table but can't work out how to write in a numbered list.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm pretty new to PD, I'm currently trying to make a tape delay.
I've made a very simple one using the delwrite~ and delread~ objects.
I want the final patch to act like an actual tape delay. I'm looking to add saturation and variable tape speed to the patch. I've been investigating using vd~ to create variable tape speed but I'm not really sure how to use it and am a bit stuck. Any suggestions? I've attached the current patch.

Thanks for all your help!
Here is the finished patch. -

Thanks, I've redone the patch to get rid of the zip and some of the saturation stages.
I'm still getting clicks when i turn audio on\off and bang a saturation curve to the dsat table. I'm thinking of adding a hi pass filter control for each of the tape heads.
Also does anyone know of a limiter abstraction I can use on output.

I tried this but i got major distortion. I've attached my patch and a picture of all the bits that are zipping. I'm dyingggg

Thanks for looking at the patch. I've tried running the entire signal through the saturation process, but i'm not getting any different results, i may be doing something wrong. Do you think you'd be able to post a demonstration of how it should be done in the patch? I thought the 4 stages of saturation would be a good idea, it may be overkill though. Thanks
