I have successfully gotten arduino running with pd, using the arduino-test.pd from arduino's webpage. I have a button attached to the arduino, so it triggers a bang when the connection is closed. But the bang is triggered both when the button is pressed and depressed. Is there a way to only have the bang hit when the button is pressed?

    thanks.

Hi I've gone through and downloaded the firmata and pduino and a few things from the playground on the arduino webpage, but I'm not exactly sure what to do in order to get the arduino working. I've also installed the hardware and everything.
On the arduino-test.pd the [arduino 1] object is coming up as an invalid object.

What do i have to do to get pd to read the arduino inputs?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I'm trying to make a series of bangs that count how many times each has been hit.

But also each bang is related to each other, in that the values of the bangs always add to 0.

    so if they are arranged in a grid, . . . . .
    . . . . .
    . . . . .
if the top left bang is hit, then it
would cause the rest of the bangs
values to change, by adding a fraction
to the closest bangs and then subtracting
for each bang that's further away, with the
bottom right bang being subtracted by the
    highest value.

I'm not quite sure how to do this, is there any easier way than setting up a series of addition and subtraction patches, like by creating some sorta matrix or something? Thank you.

When creating a table I understand that there are 2 arguments, name and size. But what does "size" really do? When I set up a table and don't specify this argument, it acts the same way as if I do specify the argument.

also is size supposed to be the amount of numbers you have in the table, or is it the highest value you have in the table?

    *edit*
sorry I just realized I was finding another problem similar to this.
the argument for the [osc~] which is supposed to set the base frequency doesn't seem to work either, I can put no number there and I can put 2000 and it doesnt seem to change anything.

    Thanks

    Hi

I am working with a patch with uses multiple oscillators
currently there is 12, but there will eventually be more.
The problem I'm encountering is when I turn on the audio
there is a very annoying buzz and all the audio is distorted.
Is this a sound card issue, or is there an issue with using
    multiple oscillators?

    thanks,
    Adam

Hi I'm having an issue with my patch, I have multiple bangs that end up going into an osc~ and then to a dac, now each bang has it's own float(connected to the hot) and then the rest are connected to the cold. The values of each float are added by 1 alone, but each bang changes the value of each other float for the other bangs, therefore the values are always changing.

The problem is that the values only change for each float when that specific bang is hit. So I tried to set up a [bang] message and send it to the hot inlet as well. But this causes the audio to play forever, and I cannot figure out why.

    Any ideas?

    Sorry if this is confusing.
    Thanks

dang didnt even realize that about pressed and depressed lol. yeah button-down and button-up events both send the bang.

hmmm, I'm on windows, and I fear this problem is a bit harder than my knowledge of pd extends

Actually found out what was going on 2day with this problem Hardoff.

I have a number system of telling [mtof] a midi number, and that number goes to the osc, so I guess the osc argument was being overrided? That's my best guess, yeah there is sound and compute audio is checked

    That worked, thanks a lot.

    Thanks for the response

sorry for the newb questions but:

Where in the patch do I put the divide?
    Thanks
