Whenever I texture a video that I have run through pix_metaimage I get a green line on the edge of the geo. I have messed around with the texture settings but can't seem to shake it. Anyone know what the problem is?

I have not found a post that really answers the "which video codec is best to use in PD?" question. By best I mean what will allow me to run the most amount of video while retaining some quality. I tend to use Motion-Jpeg(usually A) with the quality set to 100%. Also the H.261 seems good. Has anyone had any good experiences with anything else? Anyone found any good(hopefully free) 3rd party stuff online? I am running OSX 10.4.11. on a G4 powerbook.

    Thanks.

I am looking for collections of GLSL Shaders that work well in PD. I am just getting into the GLSL part of GEM. Eventually I would like to write my own shaders but for now would really love to mess around with things other people have done. If anyone knows of any please let me know.

    -Thanks

    Just quickly,

The Photo-Jpeg codec at 100% quality seems to be the best bet. Beware of going under full quality as it quickly turns your video into garbage. At 100% it looks pretty good I think. CPU seems to like this best.

Also don't forget to create your video in RGB color space so you don't have to do any in-program converting. pix_rgba kills cpu.

Again it depends on what your personal variables are but this is what I will be encoding my vids into from now on.

    good luck!

    Hey Evan,

Nice work. I really like the textures on your cubes both color and pattern. I was getting into the music as well. I have wanted an Ipod touch for a while now just so I can play with it as a controller. I still cant find one cheap enough to justify the buy though. Were you using the I pod as the sole control device or were you using other things as well like your keyboard and mouse? Have you done any shows with this yet? Without the snaps pro background and projected on a big screen I bet this could really get a crowd going.

    Keep It up.

Blender can be tough to learn but it is worth it. After taking a couple of days to figure out the basics you can make any shape you want to import into PD. Just try to ignore all the complicated texture and animation stuff. The first few basic tutorials will teach you everything you need to know to make OBJ models. Something that is nice to do in blender is assign different parts of your model group numbers. Then you can turn them on and off by sending a group message to your model object in PD. Feel the POWER of two open source programs working together!
