I've been having problems with MIDI in Pd and wondered if anyone had any suggestions. I'm on Windows 7 and Pd 0.43.4.

I'm using a Korg nanoKontrol2, and can see the MIDI input fine in MIDI-OX. When I set the nanoKontrol as my MIDI device in Pd, I have to move a fader several times before Pd registers it. Once it does, MIDI data comes in in real time, so it isn't just a latency issue. It's almost as though Pd struggles to recognise which channel the data is coming in on. Also, moving a fader up and down doesn't produce a consistent result (such as the fader down being 0 and the fader up being 127) - pushing the fader all the way up and all the way down produces completely different numbers in Pd each time I do it.

Today, I installed LoopBe1 and set this as my MIDI output in MIDI-OX, then set it as my input in Pd. However, this produces no MIDI input whatsoever, even though I can see that everything is working fine in MIDI-OX.

Has anyone had any success with a similar MIDI setup?

Are you sure the problem is with Pd? Did you have some problems using other applications together with your Korg? The only suggestion I have in mind is to use some sort of MIDI monitor to check what data the device is actually sending to your computer.

it was my MIDI mapping that was causing the problem. I'm still have some issues with unpredictable behaviour when multiple MIDI messages are sent at the same time, but at least it's working
