Following Gsagostinho's endorsement of pd-l2ork, I just installed it (a few struggles along the way - anyone can let me know if they want the gory details) and, so far, I agree! Mostly, thank heavens for curved cables.

However, one abstraction I'd previously made doesn't seem to work. It's a 4x4 matrix patcher. The issue is not with functionality, but graphics. In order to be pretty, I'm using a canvas on top of each of the toggles; this canvas switches color between red and green, obscuring the boring toggle underneath.

But, with L2Ork, it seems that the canvas blocks the use of my mouse! I can't click on the hidden toggle underneath!

I can easily take out the canvas aspect, of course. But it's so pretty!

Here is the patch, if anyone wants to check it out. It's two abstractions - [4x4] calls sixteen instances of [o].

That's a strange problem you are having, I downloaded your abstractions and created a new patch using them, and they change the colour from pink to green when I Ctrl click them in Edit Mode or when I click on them in the execution mode. So it seems the toggle is working fine on my computer.

About the installation, did you try to install it side by side with pd-extended? It wasn't that easy for me at first either, but now I have both running perfectly well side by side.

And the best thing about Pd-l2Ork is not even the heavenly curved cables, but also infinite undos, colour schemes (they are currently working on a way to let the user create and save colour scheme presets via the GUI!), better tidy up algorithm, resizing GUI by simply clicking and dragging them. The devs are very active developing it, and they are also very friendly, so if you find a bug or have some specific problem you can't solve via this forum, please do contact them via their mailing list.

Well, odd. It still doesn't work right on my system.

I can turn toggle the toggles by a very small sliver, where the toggle-box extends beyond the pretty canvas... also, if I make the [toggle] bigger, I can turn it on and off anywhere that the canvas ISN'T.

I'm using a very old laptop, running Lubuntu 12.04.05 (other 'buntus boggle its brain). I, too, had to do the "f0rce-overwrite" installation method, but everything else seemed smooth.

So, to the L2Ork forums I go! Another damn password to learn...

I am currently using a yet non released (development) version of Pd-l2Ork, so there is a small chance that this difference between our versions is responsible for the problem, although unlikely.

Why don't you use a program such as KeePassX? My life is completely changed after that....

I should have reported back... yes, clicking through canvases is exactly the issue. But Mr. L2Ork convinced me that that's not the most elegant solution - instead, I'm just changing the color of the toggles WITHOUT a new canvas on top. Same prettiness, less fuss!

Sure, using [color $1( is another way of solving the problem, but I think it's great they will reimplement the clicking through, so many nice abstractions depend on this type of feature.
