Hi!

I would like to loop a sound file (.wav). I use a simple loop with a bang that triggers the "open [soundfile].wav, 1" object again.
However, there is an annoying crack after the sound file ends and starts again. I am thinking a simple short fade in and fade out could do the trick.

How do I do fade ins and fade outs in combination with the open and the ~readsf objects? Any ideas?

Hi, welcome to this forum.

If you are using pd-extended, then try this patch that I prepared for you: fadein-fadeout.pd

Don't forget to substitute filename in the message [open a.wav,1( connected to [readsf~].

Basically, I keep track of the time that the file is playing and then using the length of the file minus the length of the fader I activate the fadeout. The fadein is simple, I just use the rightmost outlet of [readsf~].
