hi,
is anyone using framestein? i've spent a little time acquainting myself with the program and i have a feeling there are probably some interesting things of which it is capable.
my question is, is it possible to import stills or video from my webcam into framestein? if yes, how? if no, are there are pd externals/extensions that make this possible.
thanks,
zac

there was a file loaded onto the yahoo Framestein group( you can find it through the framestein.org site) that I believe allowed for live feeds from webcams. I haven't really looked at it but I know it is possible.

the one cool thing you could do with Framestein was use photoshop plugins on a video stream. although it claimed to be realtime, whenever you would go to trigger the effect it would bring up a separate window with the parameters you would have to change and close. i couldn't figure out how to send it the messages without it opening up the window, so it couldn't really change it in realtime on the fly.
anyways, seeing as it's not maintained and kinda buggy, i stopped using it and opted for Gem instead. Gem's a little easier to get into, and you can do video with it more or less the same way (although they obviously have different patches/effects).
also, look into Gridflow. i haven't used it at all yet but it is supposed to be extremely powerful once you get into it.
hope this helps,
