Hey all, so here we go 10 years later we finally migrated the deprecated PunBB forum to NodeBB.
This forum is using markdown (but i think you can still use bbcode). The most important markdown to know is the ``` for denoting code. I think it would be good to use it when doing ascii art patches.

Is there anyway to get a look that's something reasonable and not this graphics/format heavy look? For instance, is it really necessary to have a split screen right now to see my typing mirrored in? Also, on a practical note, search engine links to posts on the old site no longer link to their relevant pages, they all simply take you to the generic front page for this site.

There's only 4-5 themes in NodeBB currently. I might create a new theme if many people request it (also this theme is fully mobile compatible). BTW there's a way to stretch / unstretch the layout by pointing your cursor at the lower right of the page (an icon will appear).

Yes, I'm aware of that. Not sure if I will be able to fix this issue.

Understood. It's just that on the front page in particular, the information is obscured by the giant talk bubble graphics. The graphics are all the same, so it's not like they provide any additional information or for finding the forum you'd like to browse. They're just... "there".

Losing links to the old forum is a disaster ... That was a huge resource. Why not "freeze" it but keep it available for searching and access via whatever URL's folks might have saved for themselves. I know I have a lot.
The new forum is super sexy. Nice one.
The new forum doesn't seem to like it when the word "table" is enclosed by square brackets (I.e. the ASCII representation of PD's table object). I guess it thinks it's BBCode? It chops off the rest of the post.

I think it would be a better practice to use code block for [objects]

@le-NEKO Would it be possible to fix posts from the old forum that contain [table] (sans markdown, of course) so they display correctly in the new forum? Right now, posts that contain this particular string are mangled and the threads don't make much sense, for example http://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/7656/creating-a-sfxplayer-file-wav-and-making-it-have-arrays/8

Though I don't think [table] is to blame here...
Also, the HTML entity … (ellipsis) is showing up escaped; not sure if this is a problem for any other entities.
Finally, the backup site at http://puredata_bak.hurleur.com/ is unavailable, showing an "Unable to insert into online list" error.
Very nice looking new forum! Gets me excited to see some new things happening in the PD realm!
