Hi everyone!

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with something in FM8.

Basically, I'm doing a project for university where I'm using a Playstation 3 controller to manipulate sound in FM8.

I've done all of that and it works, but now I want to add a frequency filter, controlled by the right analog stick of the controller.

I've been told by my lecturers that since the audio is sourced from FM8 and not Pure Data, the frequency filter has to be created within FM8.

Now I've tried to see if this is possible using the MIDI Controller Assignment window in FM8, but I've had no luck yet.

I'm wondering whether anything can be done to route the effects within FM8, for instance the shelving EQ, into the MIDI Controller Assignment window so that it can then be routed into Pure Data.

I'm not even sure if it's possible, but I figured the best way to find out is through this forum.

So I really appreciate if anyone gets back to me regarding this.

hey, unless someone deep into FM8 comes along, it sounds like your main concerns are in that.

anything done in pd is able to be viewed an modified, but FM8 is closed source, so only the company has control over how it works.

Have you tried mailing native instruments for help? I assume they use some of their revenue for support like that.

I just don't see how we can help you here from the pd side... sorry if i'm wrong.

Have you worked with patching external sources, like FM8, in PD before?

I've got the prefixes for the analog stick, but i'm just not sure whether creating the frequency filter within PD will enable it to work.

I have tried posting on the forum of FM8 but I've had no reply yet.
